Sesame Street Parodies Chappell Roan with Potty-Training Anthem “Got to Go”: Watch

In late July, Sesame Street released the potty-training anthem “Got to Go,” inspired by Chappell Roan’s “Hot to Go!,” as part of a delightful album titled Parody Party. Now, the music video for the track has been unveiled, featuring Cookie Monster, Elmo, Abby Cadabby, and friends. Watch it below.

Dressed in Roan’s outfit from the “Hot to Go!” video, Cookie Monster leads off with universally relatable lyrics like, “There might be a mess if I don’t get moving.” This leads into the “Got to Go” chorus, where the bathroom bop helps parents walk their kids through the potty process. From the advice that “your body knows when to go” and taking a seat on the toilet “nice and slow” to remembering to wash and dry off your hands, it covers all the bases.

In addition to “Got to Go,” Parody Party features “Take a Bite,” a Cookie Monster-fronted spin on Bruno Mars’ “I Just Might,” “Where Is My Lovie,” based on RAYE’s “Where Is My Husband!,” and “Go for the Gold,” inspired by “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters. Previous YouTube exclusives “Sort It All” (based on Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off”), “Share It Maybe” (Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe”), and “Me Want It (But Me Wait)” (Icona Pop’s “I Love It”) are also included in the collection, which you can stream in full below.
