NPP holds national thanksgiving service in Goaso after successful internal elections

Translate

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has held a national thanksgiving service at the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church in Goaso in the Ahafo Region to express gratitude to God following what it described as successful elections of its executives and flagbearer.

The service formed part of the party’s efforts to seek divine guidance, protection and wisdom as it prepares for the 2028 general elections.

Addressing the congregation, NPP General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua said the party considered it important to hold a thanksgiving service with members of the SDA Church, who observe their day of worship on Saturdays, to thank God for the peaceful conduct of its internal elections.

He said the party was also seeking God’s direction and protection as it works towards its goal of winning the 2028 general elections.

Meanwhile, the party’s National Chairman, John Boadu, said NPP flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia would address concerns among SDA members relating to elections held on Saturdays if elected president in 2028.

According to him, Dr Bawumia would speak on the matter at the appropriate time and explain the steps he intends to take.

The Presiding Superintendent and President of the SDA Church, Jonathan Owusu, urged the NPP to prioritise unity and teamwork as it prepares for the next general elections.

He commended the party for organising the thanksgiving service following its internal elections, describing the gesture as a positive sign of unity, and encouraged its members to work together towards their electoral goal.
