KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia's 30-stock index opened lower on Friday taking cue from Wall Street's decline as worries over the spending by artificial intelligence companies sent most related stocks lower.

The key index dropped 0.43 points at the opening bell to 1,607.

It is likely to trade within the 1,600 and 1,615 range today.

In the crypto exchange market, Bitcoin rose to RM331,507.

Ethereum climbed to RM9,738 and Solana traded higher at RM423.
