'Ranabaali' actor Vijay Deverakonda revisited the engagement ring speculation surrounding his wife, Rashmika Mandanna, and clarified which rings he actually bought for her.

The actor expressed displeasure over an earlier piece of jewelry that sparked rumors before their wedding. He also opened up about their journey to marriage, including why he needed time before committing to the relationship.

On Koffee With Karan, Vijay addressed reports that identified a ring Rashmika Mandanna wore during a film shoot as her engagement ring. He said the assumption was frustrating and asked Rashmika to show the jewelry he had chosen for her.“I am really annoyed by the fact that people showed some ring that was on her hands for some shoot and said that's an engagement ring. I am not annoyed by things, but if they thought that's a ring I would buy it insults me. So these are the rings,” he said.As Rashmika showed the rings, Vijay explained his choice of jewelry. “These are the rings that I got her because this is my style,” he added.

The speculation began in October 2025, when Rashmika shared a video featuring her pet dog, Aura.

The actress spoke about a song she had heard while shooting for a film and expressed her affection for it in the caption. Viewers also noticed a diamond ring on her hand, prompting speculation that she and Vijay had secretly gotten engaged.Rashmika wrote, “This was the first song I heard from the film while shooting, and still... I'm in LOVE with this songgg. Also can we talk about Aura vibing with meee? Imagine she knew that the girl on the screen is me.. she would be so confused! The post did not officially announce an engagement. However, the ring became a subject of discussion among fans, who interpreted it as a possible hint about the couple's relationship.

The couple also discussed how they reached the decision to marry. Rashmika recalled being ready when marriage first came up, while Vijay wanted to be certain about their future together.“I was like, ‘I’m ready. I want to get married,’” Rashmika said. Vijay responded, “Women always know much earlier. They are more mature and smarter.”Explaining his hesitation, Vijay said he wanted to see how their relationship handled career pressures, difficult periods and emotional changes.

“I was testing myself. I was testing the relationship,” he said. He added, “Through all of it, if marriage still feels so important, then we should do it.”
