Vincenzo Italiano has identified Napoli midfielder André-Frank Zambo Anguissa as his top January target as he tries to turn around a difficult spell at Beşiktaş.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the former Bologna and Fiorentina coach wants an experienced, physical midfielder to strengthen his side’s engine room, and the Cameroon international is at the top of his list.
Italiano took over in Istanbul in June, but Beşiktaş have won only one of their last five games. Defeats to Celtic in Europe and Trabzonspor in the league were followed by a hard-fought 2-2 draw with Kasımpaşa. Before today’s game against Gençlerbirliği, they were fifth in the Süper Lig, nine points behind leaders Galatasaray.

Anguissa’s contract situation at Napoli
Anguissa turns 31 this month, and his Napoli contract expires in June 2027. Talks over a renewal have stalled, and Napoli’s poor form has weakened their position at the negotiating table.
The Partenopei have already considered selling him in January rather than losing him for nothing next summer. Inter and Atalanta have both been linked with the midfielder this season.
