The Lagos State Government has said it will use the second edition of the Lagos Energy Summit to attract private investment into the state’s electricity market and promote sustainable energy solutions.
The Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Biodun Ogunleye, disclosed this in a statement on the 2026 Lagos Energy Summit, which is scheduled to hold on November 10 and 11 at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The summit, themed ‘Lagos Energy Evolution: Transforming the Future’, will bring together policymakers, regulators, investors, development partners, industry leaders and innovators to discuss opportunities and solutions for the development of the state’s energy sector.
The event, which was initially scheduled for September, was moved to November to allow for further preparations.
According to the statement, a major focus of the summit will be the implementation of the Lagos State Electricity Law, 2024, particularly its implications for private sector participation and investment across the electricity value chain.
Speaking on the summit, Ogunleye said the event would provide an avenue to assess developments in the state’s electricity sector and identify areas for strategic investment.

“The Summit will not only review the progress recorded since the enactment of the Lagos State Electricity Law, but will also catalyse strategic partnerships and investments that will deliver measurable outcomes across the generation, transmission and distribution value chain,” he noted.
According to him, discussions at the summit will also focus on the evolving regulatory framework and how it can support a reliable and sustainable electricity market.
The programme will feature plenary sessions, technical masterclasses, investment roundtables, exhibitions and business-to-business engagements.
Key areas to be discussed include renewable energy, electricity infrastructure, decentralised generation, energy investment and the role of the sector in supporting Lagos’ transition towards a 24-hour economy.
The government said participants would have opportunities to explore partnerships, memoranda of understanding and other investment opportunities.
It added that technical visits to selected energy infrastructure projects would provide participants with practical insights into ongoing developments across the state.
