Reports in Italy claim that Real Madrid and several other Premier League clubs are interested in exploring a potential deal for Scott McTominay if Napoli are unable to reach an agreement over a new contract for the Scotland international.
McTominay contract situation sparks Real Madrid and Premier League interest
McTominay is now into the third year of the four-year contract he signed when he joined Napoli from Manchester United in the summer of 2024.

With a deadline of 2028, there are growing concerns that the next summer transfer window might be the last chance to cash in on the 2024-25 Serie A MVP winner, given that he could walk away for free the following year without an extension to his current contract.
Recent reports in Italy claim that McTominay has asked his representatives to re-open discussions over a new contract with Napoli, but there have also been suggestions that if an agreement is not reached quickly, that he could be inclined to listen to offers from other clubs during the coming transfer windows.
According to reports from Tuttomercatoweb, Real Madrid have been in contact with McTominay’s entourage to request information regarding his current situation. TMW also claims that several other Premier League clubs are poised to do the same.

Napoli, meanwhile, do not wish to place McTominay up for sale and hope that they will be able to fend off suitors for the January transfer window at least according to Thursday’s report.
This would ensure that McTominay stays on board until the end of the 2026-27 season at least, and would also give Napoli an extra few months to arrange a new contract for their star midfielder.
