Jalen Brunson to Guest Star on ‘Law & Order: SVU’

In a true baller move, Jalen Brunson is finally, officially set to guest star on this season of NBC‘s Law & Order: SVU alongside his unlikely BFF Mariska Hargitay. These two (and NBC) just can’t get enough of one another.

Brunson, the NBA Champion New York Knicks point guard, will appear on the fifth episode of the upcoming season, NBC says. Brunson’s episode will air on Nov. 5 at p.m. ET/PT. His role is being “kept under wraps,” we’re told, but he’s probably not just gonna be a corpse. That was more of Victor Wembanyama’s role in the NBA Finals.

Roundball rocks, but Brunson is really taking to this TV thing. On Monday, Brunson appeared in the pre-taped Emmys cold open — also on NBC and hosted by Hargitay — and he’ll host the season 52 premiere of Saturday Night Live on Sept. 26 (with musical guest Katseye).

You’ll never guess where the Knicks will open their season this fall. OK, yes, it will be at Madison Square Garden — a very guessable physical location for the team’s banner-and-ring ceremony — but how about TV-wise? Right, that one is easy too: the Knicks will tip off against LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers on NBC and Peacock on Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. ET.

Law & Order: SVU‘s 28th season(!) premieres on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 9 p.m. Season 26 of Law & Order will follow at 10. (SVU is a spinoff of the OG Law & Order, but the original Law & Order was taken off the air for several seasons while Law & Order: SVU persevered.)

Hargitay, Ice T, Peter Scanavino, Kelli Giddish, Kevin Kane, Aimé Donna Kelly and Corey Cott star on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which is the longest-running live-action primetime series in the history of American television.
