Hansi Flick reacts to the defeat against Real Madrid

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has expressed his disappointment after his side suffered a 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid in Sunday's El Clásico at the Spotify Camp Nou.
Kylian Mbappé scored twice for Real Madrid, while Raphinha found the net for Barcelona. The defeat ended Barcelona's nine-game winning streak in La Liga and marked their first league loss of the 2026/27 season.
Speaking after the match, Flick admitted that Barcelona lacked energy and failed to perform at their best, particularly in the first half.
"We're disappointed. The first half wasn't good, but we improved in the second half after it was 1-1. We lacked freshness."
The German coach acknowledged that Real Madrid were a quality opponent and praised their defensive organisation, admitting that Barcelona needed to analyse their mistakes and improve. Flick also insisted that the team must recover physically and respond positively after suffering consecutive defeats against Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
"Defeats are part of this sport. We have to analyse and improve, and we will. It's important to react," he added.
Despite the disappointing result, Flick remains confident that Barcelona can bounce back, with upcoming fixtures providing an opportunity to regain momentum before the international break.
