An unbeaten 137-run partnership between Ellyse Perry and Annabel Sutherland helped Australia ease to an eight-wicket win against Bangladesh in Brisbane on Wednesday.

A four-wicket haul from Megan Schutt had helped the host bowl Bangladesh out for 172 after putting the visitor into bat.

Sharmin Akhter and Shorna Akhter, who both scored fifties, were the only batters who could keep the scores ticking.

Australia’s chase suffered an early setback when Georgia Voll was dismissed for a quick 11. Beth Mooney too fell four overs later, castled by debutant Disha Biswas.

But Perry and Sutherland ensured the Aussies did not have to break a sweat, completing their half-centuries en route to a comfortable chase.
