The legendary actor has been giving a lot of new interviews to promote her new memoir Is It Too Late to Make a Run for It? this week, giving us some absolute gems (and some sad health updates).

"He looked down, and I completely forgotten that I have a doormat there saying, 'I've been expecting you, Mr Bond'. I was pleased. I think he was [too]."

She insisted that she hadn't put it out just for the occasion, and that it had been in place there "for a very long time".

While Dench has appeared in eight Bond films, won an Oscar and received a tremendous amount of acclaim for her stage and screen work, she revealed this week that she'd absolutely love to do a soap.

"I don't think I ever have, and I'm sure nobody would have me in it," she said. "No, I've never been asked to appear in TV soap opera."

"Emmerdale driving some sheep! I could be a very, very serious shepherdess."
