India’s Abhay Singh beat Pakistan’s Muhammad Irfan 3-0 (11-3, 12-10, 11-6) to enter the men’s singles squash final at the ongoing Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on Saturday.
The World No. 26 became just the second Indian man to enter the summit clash after Saurav Ghosal, who clinched silver in the 2014 and 2023 editions.
Singh could face another Pakistani in the final as Noor Zaman plays Malaysia’s Eain Yow Ng in the other semifinal later in the day.
Against Irfan, who had beaten India’s Veer Chotrani in the quarterfinals, Singh romped to clinch the first game with ease. However, the Pakistani showed some fight in the second, taking it to 10-10, but the Indian eventually took a 2-0 lead in the match.
The third game, too, almost mimicked the first as the Indian raced to four match balls and converted on the first to enter the gold-medal match.
Earlier in the day, Anahat Singh completed a comeback to beat Japan’s Satomi Watanabe 3-2 to enter the women’s singles final.
