Youngster Sienna Spiro bags debut number one single

Sienna Spiro has become the youngest British female artist in more than a decade to score a number one single, according to the Official Charts Company.

The 20-year-old scored her very first number one single with Great Expectation – becoming the youngest British female artist since Becky Hill’s 2014 chart-topping hit Gecko (Overdrive) featuring Oliver Heldens.

Spiro broke out on the music scene in October 2025 with her viral song Die On This Hill, before releasing Material Lover in May 2026 as part of The Devil Wears Prada 2 soundtrack.

She went on to release her debut album, Visitor, in July – which features the title track single The Visitor as well as Pure, Great Expectation, and You Stole The Show.

It comes weeks after she made her debut at London’s All Points East festival.

Spiro knocked Ella Langley’s Choosin’ Texas off the summit followed by Movin’ To The Sun by Hugel, Imael Angel, and Ultra Nate.

At number four is Stella Lefty’s Boston, with Sam Fender and Olivia Dean’s hit Rein Me In at number five.

Meanwhile on the albums chart, Kasabian have scored their eighth number one with Act III.

It comes two years after the band scored their last number one album with 2024’s Happenings – which followed from 2022’s The Alchemist’s Euphoia.

The group is followed by Slovak singer-songwriter Adela with her debut album Prima.

The 21-year-old rising star, also known as Adela Jergova, rose to fame as a contestant on the X Factor-style Netflix competition series The Debut: Dream Academy – competing for the chance to become a member of the group Katseye.

The singer did not win the fan-voted competition, but she appeared in the follow-up series Pop Star Academy: Katseye which documented the contestant’s journey on the programme, earning her a loyal online fanbase which has since helped launch her solo career.

Michael Jackson’s The Essential remained in the top five and placed fourth on the leaderboard.

The record was followed by the anonymous heavy metal band President’s debut album, Blood Of Your Empire, which entered the chart at number five.
