John Cena's name is on the November 2 RAW, and there's talk it's about more than a simple return. WrestleVotes, via Fightful Select, reports that people backstage think Cena could be there to update everyone on the John Cena Classic. He announced that tournament at WWE Backlash, and it's been pretty quiet since. He's also set for NXT, so he'll be showing up across two brands. Nothing's been officially confirmed about what he'll say on RAW. The main speculation ties Cena's RAW spot to the tournament he introduced at Backlash.

WWE Backstage Belief Links John Cena's RAW Appearance to His New Tournament
People backstage believe John Cena's appearance in Brooklyn, New York, has something to do with the John Cena Classic.
Cena had presented it as a one-day competition with wrestlers from RAW, SmackDown, and NXT. It isn't meant to work like a normal tournament where match results alone decide the winner.
The champion gets picked through fan voting instead. Cena explained that a wrestler doesn't necessarily have to win a match to take the title, and making an impression on the WWE Universe with their in-ring performance could be enough.
That odd format is one reason the tournament has needed more planning than a regular run of matches, and WWE hasn't shared a full update since Cena first announced it.
WWE Has Consulted Shawn Michaels and AJ Styles While Planning the John Cena Classic
Fightful Select also reported that WWE has held several meetings and discussions about making the tournament feel different from its usual programming.
People who wouldn't normally sit in on these conversations got brought into the process, including NXT's Shawn Michaels and AJ Styles.
The reported distribution plans have changed too. WWE first looked at presenting the John Cena Classic as a showcase event for Club WWE, but now the promotion is considering streaming it on another platform as well.
Cena's return is set for the November 2 episode of RAW, then he appears on NXT on November 4. The backstage belief connects the RAW date to the tournament, but WWE still hasn't officially confirmed a major announcement about it.
