It entered the top 10 Tollywood premieres of all time, but it didn’t happen as comfortably as expected. The Paradise registers Tollywood’s 10th biggest premiere in North America

The Telugu action thriller had a blast in advance bookings, grossing $1.25 million for premiere shows and day 1. Backed by such pre-sales, it marked a flying start in the territory. Though walk-ins were impacted by negative reviews, it still grossed a superb $1.42 million (13.61 crore) from premiere shows, a career-best for Nani, surpassing HIT: The Third Case’s $870K.

With $1.42 million, The Paradise registered Tollywood’s 10th highest premiere of all time at the North American box office. It surpassed Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram ($1.42 million) by a very small margin. Given the hype, a considerable margin was expected between these two films, but in reality, the latest biggie just barely cracked it.

Nonethless, it still pulled Nani’s biggest opening day with $1.63 million (15.62 crore), including premieres. It surpassed HIT: The Third Case’s $1.19 million.

Among all Tollywood films, the action thriller clocked the 14th biggest opening of all time at the North American box office. It surpassed Saaho ($1.46 million) to claim the 14th spot.
