Big Brother host Will Best responds to fan response over 'chaotic' eviction interview switch-up

Big Brother host Will Best has responded to fan comments about the eviction interviews in this latest season, following changes ITV has made to the show.

Previously, evicted housemates were given a lengthy grilling by Will and co-host AJ Odudu in companion show Late & Live, which aired after the main episodes.

However, that show was axed going into the 2026 season, meaning that evictees are interviewed as part of the main show in a brief, less than 10-minute segment.

And rather than being interviewed in the studio, now-former housemates are interviewed outdoors.

The new format is proving pretty divisive, with detractors complaining about all the crowd noise, and that Will and AJ don't get enough time to properly chat to contestants about their time on the show.

"[Whose] clever idea was it to interview housemates in the middle of the rowdy crowd?!" wrote one fan, while another said: "Doing the eviction interview with the crowd there is a stupid idea, they need to do it in a studio".

"The exit interview format is not working why is it outside in the middle of an audience," a third wrote. "Much better format on [Late & Live]."

And it's these fans that Will agrees with, stating on an Instagram Live after the show that it was "mad" the he and AJ only had "seven minutes" to interview and he does "miss Late & Live" (via Metro), and that the new formats make it feel "like us as hosts are just banging up on [the evictees]" (via Super TV).

On the other hand, some people loved the changes, with one stating that it was "very reminiscent of a channel 4 eviction night".

"Choosing to have the interviews back in front of a real crowd, and not the filtered ones on Late & Live, is a PERFECT choice for this season. This Chelsey interview is chaotic perfection", another fan wrote, while a further one said: "Having Chelsey's exit interview surrounded by people heckling and chanting Johanne was perfect television."

Friday's evicted housemate Chelsey was interviewed — alongside Charlotte who quit — on yesterday's episode of the new spin-off show The Group Chat by GK Barry and BB3 winner Kate Lawler.
