Pertamina EP lifts Jatinegara gas output to 12.3 MMSCFD

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Pertamina EP Tambun Field raised gas production at its Jatinegara field to 12.3 million standard cubic feet per day in October, using two operational innovations to improve well performance.
"Output was nearly 1.5 times the February average of 8.3 MMSCFD, when Pertamina EP resumed management of the field," Senior Manager Totok Parafianto said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The increase was supported by two operational innovations, CEMARA and STEP UP 2.0, introduced in April and May, respectively, he said.
Both innovations were developed to address production challenges at wells JNG-003 and JNG-004.
At JNG-003, high water production alongside gas flows required frequent intervention, reducing the well's operational efficiency.
Under CEMARA, Pertamina EP Tambun Field inspected the well to identify where water was entering before determining the appropriate corrective measures.
Gas production at JNG-003 increased to about 2.7 MMSCFD from 1.42 MMSCFD, while water production fell to about 0.5 barrels per day from 792 barrels.
The sharp reduction in water production also decreased the need for routine interventions, improving operational efficiency and increasing the well's gas contribution, he said.
