Shamzydane channels personal experiences in new single

Up-and-coming singer, Shalom Terem, popularly known as Shamzydane, has released his latest single titled, Alone, as he continues to establish himself in the Nigerian music scene.

Released on August 20, 2026, the song blends Afro-Soul and Afro-Swing elements, with the artiste drawing inspiration from his personal experiences, emotions and current phase of life.

Describing the inspiration behind the song, the 22-year-old said it was a reflection of the pressures he was experiencing while trying to understand himself and navigate the next stage of his life.

Speaking further about the creative process, Shamzydane said the song was inspired by his desire to make sense of his circumstances and remain focused on moving forward.

The release follows his earlier appearance on Loba Tan, a song by United States-based artiste, Tomi Tribe.

Shamzydane added that his passion for music was nurtured during his formative years through his experiences in church and school.

“I started music in church and school. That experience shaped me, and gave me the inspiration to embark on the musical journey I am on right now,” he said.

He added that listening to different artistes while growing up helped him develop an understanding of music and encouraged him to find his own sound.

Beyond music, Shamzydane said he hoped to contribute to a society that was united, progressive and committed to supporting its people.
