It's a Net Zero from the Strictly judges! Eco zealot Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband shows off his dancefloor moves during Caribbean trip (before realising he's being filmed...)

Ed Miliband put on an alarming show when he tried to dance to a steel band during the government trip to the Caribbean.

The Foreign Secretary joined Prime Minister Andy Burnham for some light relief from their tour, which has coincided with King Charles's, after it was dogged by the row over a British apology for the slave trade.

But Mr Miliband ensured the performance by the Hell's Gate steel orchestra in Antigua was just as awkward - by breaking into a jig.

The episode began with a simple toe tap, before the veteran Labour minister suddenly hiked up his arms and hopped from foot to foot.

For a moment, he threatened to break out into a full-blown marching routine, though thankfully noticed the camera was rolling and reined himself in, flashing an embarrassed grin.

After listening to the pros, the pair took up the sticks themselves, and bashed out a rendition of 'Mary had a Little Lamb'.

Mr Burnham took the lead, guiding Mr Miliband - 'And now we're going to do three here' - with limited success.

When they finally got going together, they played only the first line of the nursery rhyme on repeat.

After his performance, Mr Burnham was told by Khan Cordice, director of the orchestra: 'You’re a musician,' to which Mr Burnham replied: 'I play a little music.'

Mr Burnham added: 'It’s a great way of getting people together.'

The pair arrived to the sound of the orchestra playing the William Tell overture by Rossini.

The Prime Minister and his contingent were in the Caribbean to watch the King formally open the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (Chogm) in Antigua and Barbuda on Tuesday.

His first engagement after landing was another stunt - a cricket game with Antiguan legend Sir Viv Richards.

This too left the PM looking less than graceful after he slipped over onto the turf while trying to nab a quick run.
