The upcoming Friday the 13th prequel series, Crystal Lake, will be filled with gore and vengeance.

Peacock has unleashed the official trailer for Crystal Lake, offering the most extensive look yet at A24's upcoming Friday the 13th series. The new preview puts a spotlight on Linda Cardellini's portrayal of Jason Voorhees' mother, Pam Voorhees. The eight-episode horror drama series is created by Brad Caleb Kane and will premiere all episodes on Peacock on October 15, 2026.

Set before the events of the very first installment of the Friday the 13th franchise, Crystal Lake follows Pam nearly a year after her young son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake. According to Peacock's official synopsis, Pam has very understandably been unable to move past her son's death. One day, two strangers show up at her door and begin investigating her past. Their arrival sets off a disturbing chain of events that leaves the residents of Crystal Lake questioning who Pam really is and what kind of dark history she has with her son.

The newly released trailer shows Jason's death and the toll it takes on Pam, showing a dark and heartbreaking take on what a parent should never have to experience. The video shows Jason drowning at Crystal Lake, while she struggles with the aftermath of losing her son. Despite what she witnesses, Pam doesn't give up or accept that her son is truly gone. She is shown continuing to search for him, returning to the lake believing that she might still find him.

Her grief appears to become increasingly obsessive as the trailer progresses. In one unsettling sequence, Pam is interrogating a child who was in a hospital bed, demanding to know more information about Jason. The trailer presents her becoming more and more unstable by the second as she goes from grieving mother to a violent and vengeful vigilante.
