India continued its merciless form early at the Asian Games 2026, thrashing Indonesia 17-1 in the women’s hockey Pool B match at the Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium on Monday.
This thumping win comes on the back of a 19-0 blanking of Uzbekistan as the Sjoerd Marijne-coached side maintains its unbeaten run ahead of the match against Thailand on Wednesday.
Against the Indonesians, Deepika, Rutuja Pisal, and Navneet Kaur bagged hat-tricks. Sunelita Toppo, Lalremsiami, and Sakshi Rana scored two goals each. Ishika and captain Salima Tete also sounded the board.
For the losing side, Innes Aditiya scored the only goal in the third quarter when she flicked the ball past Bichu Devi at the near post.
