Vehicle registered to PMO shot at in attempted assassination of crime boss Domrani's son - report
A vehicle registered to the Prime Minister's Office was shot at in Ashkelon during what Israel Police suspect was an assassination attempt targeting Mor Domrani, the son of alleged crime boss Shalom Domrani, N12 reported on Monday.
Israel Police found that the vehicle was registered to Boaz Assayag, one of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's drivers, who had previously testified in Netanyahu's corruption trial.
The vehicle was not part of the prime minister's motorcade at the time of the incident, N12 noted.
Police determined that Assayag's son had been driving the vehicle, with Mor Domrani and other passengers inside. The occupants fled the scene together following the shooting.
The vehicle later arrived at the Erez Border Crossing, where police discovered ammunition in the car and an airsoft rifle in the possession of one of the suspects, according to N12.
Suspects opened fire with the intention of killing Domrani
In their assessment, Israel Police determined that the gunmen opened fire on the vehicle with the intention of killing Domrani.
Police stated that they arrested nine suspects, including Assayag's son.
Additionally, the vehicle involved in the shooting is being held by Israel Police as part of the investigation, N12 reported.
