Coronation Street airs Lucy Parkinson's killer confession in early ITVX release

Troubled Lucy Parkinson (Anya Dewin) has made a major confession in Coronation Street.

The teenager is currently living with Sally and Tim Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor and Joe Duttine) following the death of her mother, Rachel.

On the surface, it seems like Lucy's father Richie (Nathan Sussex) is responsible for the murder, having took responsibility and currently spending time in custody. However, with the youngster's behaviour escalating in recent weeks, there could be more to the story than first meets the eye.

After lashing out towards Sally, she called her dad and said she was fearful of doing the same to her... as she did to her mum.

Did Lucy kill Rachel?

In today's episode, hungover after stealing a bottle of vodka from the Metcalfes' kitchen cupboard, Lucy apologised to Tim and promised that she would never do such a thing again.

However, still concerned, Tim decided to address his worries with copper next-door Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers). While the two chatted over the garden fence, he said that cousin Richie had previously tried to pressure him into telling the police that Rachel had been abusive.

Richie had hoped that, by Tim lying, he would be given a self-defence charge.

Ultimately, when Tim refused to go along with it, Richie had shown an aggressive side. He was now concerned that the same amount of pressure might have been put on Lucy. Little did they realise, she was listening in from afar.

As night fell, Lucy wandered downstairs sleepwalking. Sally and Tim tried to guide her back to bed, but she broke down in tears and kicked off again, this time saying that everything was her fault.

Has she just admitted to murdering her own mum?
