Actress Nayanthara and director Vignesh Shivan are one of the most loved couples in South Indian cinema. Working together on sets, their love story began on the sets of the 2015 film 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan,' where Nayanthara played the lead and Vignesh was at the director's seat.

Where did they meet?

The two met while working on the film 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan,' which starred Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara in the leading roles. As they began spending time with each other, they became good friends.Later in time there are often moments when the two are seen supporting each other's work. The two kept their relationship private; however, fans gradually started speculating about their relationship.

Two years later, in 2017, it was during an award show in Singapore.

They attended the event together as they were seen sitting next to each other. When Vignesh Sivan won an award, he called Nayamthara one of the best people he had ever met. Nayanthara also thanked Vignesh after winning her award.After this, the couple started sharing more pictures from their time together. They travelled, celebrated festivals, and visited temples, while Vignesh often shared sweet moments with Nayanthara on social media.

It was in March of 2021 when Vignesh Sivan shared a picture of Nayanthra wearing a ring. Later in August, Nayanthara on Vijay Television during a promotional event revealed that she was wearing an engagement ring after the interview asked about her ring."It was my engagement ring. We are private people, so we didn't want to have a grand ceremony. When we decide to get married, we will definitely inform our fans. Our engagement happened in the presence of our immediate family members.

We haven't decided on our wedding yet," she said loosely translated in English.

A year later, after engagement, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan got married on June 9, 2022, in a grand wedding ceremony near Chennai. They later made their first public appearance two days later as husband and wife.The wedding was attended by several popular celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan and Rajinikanth.Later that year, the couple announced that they had become parents to twin boys. They named their sons Uyir and Ulagam. Their little munchkins turned 4 on Saturday.
