Odinga Family, Political Allies Gather In Bondo For Late Leader’s First Anniversary Memorial

Translate

The family of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, led by his widow Mama Ida Odinga and children Raila Odinga Jnr, Rosemary, and Winnie Odinga, has arrived at the Migwena Cultural Grounds in Bondo, Siaya County, to mark the first anniversary of his passing.

The commemoration has drawn thousands of supporters, family members, and political figures from across the nation to honor Odinga’s legacy and reflect on his lifetime of advocacy for democracy, social justice, and national unity in Kenya.

Ahead of the public ceremony, Mama Ida hosted members of the Linda Mwananchi movement, led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, at the family’s Opoda Farm residence. Notable political figures, including former President Uhuru Kenyatta and Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, are expected to attend the memorial.

Meanwhile, key government representatives—including President William Ruto, Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi, and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga—are among those not expected to be present at the event.
