Malavika Mohanan pens heartfelt note for ‘Pocket Novel’

Taking to Instagram, Malavika Mohanan reflected on the bond she developed with the team during the making of the film. “Some films become a little world of their own while you’re making them, and I feel incredibly lucky to have been a part of this one,” she wrote.Malavika said the experience taught her that the people one works with are just as important as the films themselves. She explained how spending months together, sharing meals and experiencing emotional highs and lows helped the team become like a family.

Thanking Vijay Sethupathi, she wrote, “@actorvijaysethupathi thank you for being the most caring and giving co-actor. Having been through this journey with you, I cannot imagine having been a part of this process with anybody else.”She also praised his supportive nature and said he always made her feel comfortable while exploring her character.“You have been so encouraging, sweet and yet have always created such a comfortable space for me to explore and get it right no matter how long it took or how hard it was,” she added.

Malavika also recalled that she and Vijay Sethupathi had previously been part of ‘Petta’ and ‘Master’, but never shared screen space in those films.“We’ve been a part of two films together- ‘Petta’ and ‘Master’, but never got to share screen space with each other so this one has been long due. And what a beautiful one it’s been,” she wrote.

The ‘Hridayapoorvam’ actress also had special words for director Thiagarajan Kumararaja, praising his unique perspective and approach to filmmaking.“TK you absolute absolute cool cat. You have such a rare way of looking at people and the world, and it’s been the experience of a lifetime working with you, but more importantly getting to know you as a person and a friend,” she wrote.She further described him as a combination of strength and kindness and said she was in awe of his work. Malavika Mohanan also thanked Ezhil Madhi for being a supportive presence throughout the journey. In the end she wrote, “Pocket Novel- you’ve been so much more than just a film. See you in cinemas soon.”Speaking of her work, Malavika Mohannan was last seen in the Tamil film ‘Sardar 2’ starring Karthi and Prabhas starrer ‘The Raja Saab’ in 2026.
