The Chicago Cubs and San Diego Padres meet in Game 2 of their National League Wild Card Series on Wednesday night at Petco Park, with Chicago facing elimination after a rough start to the postseason. San Diego leads the best-of-three series 1-0 following an 8-0 victory in the opener.

The Padres dominated Game 1 behind an outstanding performance from Michael King, who allowed just one hit across seven scoreless innings while striking out eight. Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado and Xander Bogaerts all went deep as San Diego's lineup overwhelmed Chicago. The Cubs will now turn to Kevin Gausman in an effort to keep their season alive, while Nick Pivetta is set to take the mound for the Padres.

Chicago will need a major response offensively after being held to only three hits and no runs in the opener. San Diego, meanwhile, has an opportunity to finish the series at home and advance to face the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLDS. A Cubs victory would extend the matchup to a winner-take-all Game 3 on Thursday. Game 2 begins at 10:00 PM ET and will air on NBCSN and Peacock.

This is a great MLB matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
