I'm predicting these very Princess Kate-inspired M&S buys are going to sell out fast - after Meghan sent an £85 blazer flying off the shelves

If Meghan Markle has done one thing right since moving back to the UK, it's her embrace of high street fashion. Just last week, the Duchess of Sussex was photographed wearing head-to-toe M&S leaving lunch at The Park with her PR and hairdresser, George Norwood.
It's not the first time the American actress has been spotted in M&S. Before moving back to the States, she was frequently spotted sporting the classic British high street brand including during her second ever royal outing with Prince Harry in 2018 where she wore an M&S wool-blend jumper to a community radio station in Brixton.
Meghan's embrace of the high street signals an adjustment back to UK living, with a less flashy and perhaps more Cotswolds-appropriate wardrobe. That is, of course, if we forget about her recent outfit to Claridge's with Malala Yousafzai.
But the point remains, with Meghan is clearly all-over the best of British high street, perhaps Princess Kate might also benefit from a Sparks clothing haul. The Princess of Wales is no stranger to high street, wearing a ME+EM jumper only last week.
Kate has previously worn M&S, most famously a blue midi dress she wore during a 2020 Zoom school assembly, but I can't help but think she might enjoy a little more of what this British clothing titan might have to offer.
So, from smart casual inspired outfits to winter wear, here are my top-to-toe Princess Kate inspired M&S picks.
Smart casual
A blazer gives Princess Kate the versatility she needs as part of her royal wardrobe; dressing her blazer up as part of a power-suit co-ord, or with a pair of skinny jeans for a more smart-casual look.
And while Kate frequently wears blazer jackets from Holland Cooper or Ralph Lauren, there is much to be said for M&S's blazer selection; just last week Meghan sold out an £85 M&S blazer so perhaps.
If dressing down is more your thing, we've also found some skinny jeans fit for a (future) queen.
Burgundy
A monochrome outfit is the perfect way to look put together (even if you're really not). And, need I remind you that burgundy is in this autumn?
Both Princess Kate and Meghan Markle have been recently spotted sporting the colour.
M&S is clearly way ahead of the trend with an assortment of burgundy tops, bottoms, dresses and coats to give your wardrobe that sleek, monochromatic feel.
Country Chic
Princess Kate is known for her love of the outdoors. Even on a country walk, she still manages to stay stylish and I think it's largely to do with her jackets.
She's often seen in a Barbour jacket, more often than not her Barbour Wax Defence Jacket in olive green, and the result is both practical and classy.
I've found some M&S options (that cost a fraction of Barbour's price) that I think would definitely suit Kate's style.
At the start of this piece I promised to find Kate inspired pieces from top-to-toe and in this section I'm delivering just that. M&S has a playful baker boy hat similar to the one Kate wore in the peak district for the Mind Over Mountains wellbeing walk.
Made for midi
Whether its summer or winter, you can always rely on Kate to pull off a midi dress. Kate has a few signature cuts and neck lines, with a V neck and square neck among her most worn.
Just this summer, she wore a square neck, gingham dress while attending the Royal Charity Polo Cup this summer.
In addition to cut and shape, another thing that marks a midi as decidedly 'Kate', is its bold colours, polka dots or gingham.
The winter coat
What I wouldn't give to have Kate's winter coat collection. It seems each time the Princess is photographed at this time of year, she's wearing a chic, wool coat.
During her royal visit to Belfast a little earlier this month, the Princess wore an emerald, green, midi-cut, wool Alexander McQueen coat. The coat's jewelled colour is typical of the Princess' style, who has previously also worn a sapphire blue wool coat from Reiss.
If, of course, the Princess chooses to add to her coat collection, I think these options from M&S would suit her wardrobe to a tee.
Pretty in purple
Purple is the royal colour, so it should come as no surprise that the future queen wears it so often. Most recently, she wore a royal-purple Jenny Packham dress to the Digger world premiere in September earlier this year.
But its not just that specific royal shade. Princess Kate has also worn outfits in a lighter lilac (to the 100th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's birth, for example) in addition to the bright purple frock she wore to the Men's Wimbledon Final back in 2024.
Monochrome grey
We've already established that Kate knows the art of monochromatic dressing. Just in September she wore an all-grey look to a public engagement with community transport volunteers.
And the good thing about grey is that its not all too important that the shades match tone for tone. In fact, in Kate's recent outfit the different shades of grey work to complicate each other and her.
The perfect autumn shoe
Nailing Kate's autumnal wear top-to-toe wouldn't be complete without a pair of loafers.
We also already know that Kate isn't opposed to a high street shoe, wearing a pair of Boden loafers to a social justice charity event in September.
So, if you're really looking to 'step into' Kate's autumn wardrobe, look no further than these M&S loafers.
