Austin Reaves' love story began at a small-town Arkansas high school, long before the Lakers, the NBA spotlight or the big contracts. The Lakers guard has been with Jenna Barber since 2014, and the two have stayed together through college basketball, a move across the country and years of long distance. Now, with the new season about to start, they are finally moving in together in Los Angeles. Barber shared the news on Instagram, and it lands just as Reaves steps into a bigger role with the team.

Meet Jenna Barber, The High School Sweetheart Behind Austin Reaves

Jenna grew up in Newark, Arkansas, the same town as Reaves. She was born on December 20, 2000, and has a twin sister, Jordan, and a younger sister, Jaden. The two met at Cedar Ridge High School and started dating in October 2014.

After graduating, she studied at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville and later at the University of Arkansas, finishing in December 2022. She joined the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority along the way. Since 2023, she has been studying at the Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, and she is due to graduate this December.

Reaves played college ball at Wichita State and then Oklahoma, so the two spent most of those years apart. He went undrafted in 2021 and signed a two-way deal with the Lakers that August. Jenna has been at his games ever since.

Golf Trips, Mexico And A New Home For Austin Reaves And Jenna Barber

Reaves likes to keep his love life private, but Jenna shares a lot on Instagram. Golf is their favourite pastime. They went to the U.S. Open together in 2023, and she once wrote, “u can always catch us on a golf course.” On his birthday in May 2024, she called him “my favourite person.”

This September, she posted photos from a yacht trip in Mexico with the caption “Mexicooooo.” A few days earlier, she had teased him about his offseason workout form.

Then came the big news in October. Jenna said they had found a house in the Los Angeles area, writing, “Got a house / Graduation in Dec. / THREE more months long distance!!!!”

Reaves signed a four-year, $185 million contract this offseason. With LeBron James gone, he is expected to be Luka Dončić's main running mate.

There is no word of an engagement yet. But after twelve years together, buying a home is a big step.
