‘Glaxo’ Trailer: Betrayal Ripples Through Decades In Argentine TIFF Drama From Benjamín Naishtat
“This is the story of a betrayal,” a deep Argentine voice teases in the trailer for Glaxo, based on the novel by Hernán Ronsino.
Making its world premiere Friday at TIFF, the Benjamín Naishtat-written/directed film stars Lali Espósito in a suspenseful drama about a life-altering lie told in 1957 Chivilcoy, which ripples through the decades to tell this story of betrayal.
In the quiet Argentinian town, the arrival of an ominous former cop and his seductive wife threatens to unravel the childhood bond between four inseparable young men. Decades later, the past resurfaces, forcing them to confront old wounds, guilt and the possibility of revenge.
Premiering Friday at 5:30pm at the Royal Alexandra Theatre, the film also stars Marcelo Subiotto, Esteban Bigliardi, Joaquin Bonadeo, Manu Fanego, Alan Sabbagh and Esteban Lamothe.
Producers are Rodrigo Teixeira, Berta Marchiori, Benjamin Domenech, Santiago Gallelli and Matias Roveda, with executive producers Glauco Urbim and Marília Garske.
