WATCH: Marcos clarifies ‘buwaon’ remark, says it was not directed at VP Sara

Translate

MANILA, Philippines  — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. clarified that his “buwaon,” or liar, remark was not specifically directed at Vice President Sara Duterte.

Speaking to reporters in Singapore, Marcos said his comment referred to discussions on constitutional change and the elections, and was not an official statement against Duterte.

“It’s not particularly a reaction to anything. It’s not an official press release,” he said.

Undersecretary Claire Castro likewise clarified that Marcos was referring to a statement or report, not Duterte herself. — Martin Ramos
