Why Pavlovic will not play for Milan against Ferencvaros

Strahinja Pavlovic is not expected to be part of the Milan squad for tomorrow’s Europa League game with Ferencvaros, but it is not due to an injury.
It kicks off at San Siro on Thursday at 17.45 GMT (18.45 CET).
According to Sky Sport Italia, Milan Press and more, the defender was nowhere to be seen in today’s training session, and will not even be on the bench for this fixture.
However, that does not mean another new injury scare for a side that is already missing Fikayo Tomori, Matteo Gabbia, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Samuel Chukwueze, Alexis Saelemaekers, Pietro Terracciano and suspended Mike Maignan.
Pavlovic has not stopped for Milan

Coach Ruben Amorim and the staff have simply decided that Pavlovic needed a few days to rest, having played 97 per cent all Milan’s football so far this season.
The defender was in the starting XI for all 10 Serie A fixtures and three Europa League games, only coming off the field once at the 81st minute when beating RB Salzburg 4-0 on October 15.

After 1,161 minutes of football, the 25-year-old Serbia international has earned himself a break.
He has been on the field for more minutes than any other Milan player this season, including goalkeeper Maignan.
The last time Pavlovic did not start a match was Milan’s 1-0 home defeat to Parma in February 2026.
