From Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, Nelson, Anirudh, to Vidya Balan: How much did 'Jailer 2' makers pay their star cast and crew?

Rajinikanth’s 'Jailer 2' has arrived in theatres on October 15, with early audience reactions praising the superstar’s screen presence, Nelson Dilipkumar’s humour and the film’s mass moments.

While fans celebrate the action entertainer, the reported salaries of its star cast have also caught attention. The sequel brings together popular actors from Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi cinema. Featuring music by Anirudh Ravichander, the film follows the success of the 2023 blockbuster 'Jailer.' Now, details about the cast’s reported remuneration have become another talking point.

Rajinikanth’s 'Jailer 2' salary reportedly reaches Rs 110 crore

According to a report by NDTV, Rajinikanth is reportedly being paid Rs 110 crore for playing Tiger Muthuvel Pandian in 'Jailer 2.'

The report, citing Filmibeat Tamil, also states that the superstar may have a profit-sharing agreement. If the film performs exceptionally well at the box office, his total earnings could reportedly reach Rs 180 crore. The reported fee reflects Rajinikanth’s leading role in the franchise and the expectations surrounding the sequel.

Anirudh Ravichander is reportedly paid Rs 20 crore for composing the music, while director Nelson Dilipkumar is said to receive Rs 35 crore for directing 'Jailer 2.'

Mohanlal, Vidya Balan, and other 'Jailer 2' cast salaries

The report states that Mohanlal, who returns as Mathew, is reportedly earning Rs 30 crore. Vidya Balan, who joins the franchise in a role said to have negative shades, is said to be receiving Rs 6 crore. Suraj Venjaramoodu’s reported fee stands at Rs 1 crore. Vijay Sethupathi’s usual remuneration is reportedly between Rs 15 crore and Rs 25 crore per film, but his exact fee for 'Jailer 2' has not been revealed. Hrithik Roshan’s usual remuneration is said to range from Rs 80 crore to Rs 110 crore, but his reported fee for this film is around Rs 25 crore.

S. J. Suryah reportedly charges between Rs 3 crore and Rs 10 crore, depending on the project. However, these reported figures have not been officially confirmed by the film’s makers.

'Jailer 2' budget and box office expectations

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, 'Jailer 2' reportedly has a budget of Rs 240 crore to Rs 300 crore, including cast salaries, according to NDTV. The production cost excluding the main actors’ fees is reportedly below Rs 100 crore. These figures remain unconfirmed by the makers. With Rajinikanth leading a star-studded cast and early reactions generating excitement, the film’s box-office performance will be closely watched.

The film’s box-office run will show whether it can match the first 'Jailer' and become another big hit.
