The Women's Premier League (WPL) auction 2027 takes place on Wednesday, October 28 as the five franchises try to finalise their squad ahead of the fifth edition of the league.

The mini-auction will take place in Kochi, wherein 146 players have been shortlisted to be bought by five franchises for 27 slots. The franchises will try to enhance their squad before the new season gets underway in January.

When will WPL 2027 auction start?

The WPL 2027 mini-auction will begin at 5:30 p.m. IST on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at Grand Hyatt Kochi in Kochi, Kerala, with the pre-auction show set to begin an hour earlier, at 4:30 p.m. IST.

It is the next major step in the five franchises' preparations for the 2027 season, which is scheduled to run from January 14 to February 7, 2027.

How many players are available at WPL 2027 auction?

A total of 146 players have been nominated for 27 vacancies.

From the total number of players available, 119 are Indian players and 27 are foreign players. Teams have to fight each other for 20 vacancies of Indian players and 7 vacancies of foreign players.

This can be called a mini-auction since the purpose of this auction is to fill the available vacancies and not to form their whole team.

Which teams will participate in WPL 2027 auction?
