Emmerdale airs unexpected Gabby cliffhanger in deadly crash aftermath

Emmerdale aired an unexpected cliffhanger tonight in the aftermath of this week's deadly crash. As the villagers struggled to make sense of the situation, Gabby Thomas was seen lurking nearby with a guilty look on her face. Could she have been involved somehow?

The episode picked up from the chaos of last night, amid Joe Tate and Dawn Fletcher's disastrous wedding day. While Jimmy King's fate was tragically sealed, Joe's life was hanging in the balance after he urged pregnant Dawn to save herself and their baby.

With the marquee on fire, Joe was left trapped under the heavy decor, waiting for emergency services to arrive. But it was Graham Foster who rushed to his aid, carrying him out of the blaze following the terrifying explosion.

Fortunately for Dawn, Joe regained consciousness after being rescued, and the pair headed to the hospital to get checked out. Though she seemed fine at first, Dawn went into premature labour and gave birth to a baby boy – declaring it their fresh start.

Meanwhile, it didn't take long for the news of the crash to spread around the Dales, with Caleb and Ruby Miligan fearing they may have had a hand in the tragedy, due to their revenge plot against Joe.

As Laurel Thomas did her best to support a devastated Nicola King, the villagers struggled to understand what caused the accident.

Back at the wedding site, the police found "a second set of tracks" on the road, realising that Jimmy had served to "avoid something", possibly another vehicle. Kim Tate urged them to find what exactly happened, suggesting someone else could be responsible.

As the episode ended, Gabby was seen lurking on the road nearby with a pained expression on her face. With the reason for Jimmy's crash still unclear, could he have been caught up in an secret revenge plan from Gabby?
