Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss the latest regional developments and ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nader Zaki said the two ministers exchanged views on recent regional developments and voiced concern over the prospect of renewed military confrontations and their potential repercussions for regional and international security and stability.

Abdelatty underscored the importance of prioritizing diplomatic solutions and demonstrating the necessary openness to advance a political settlement of the crisis.

He stressed the need for all parties to show flexibility and reach compromises that serve their respective interests, thereby preventing the region from descending into a new wave of escalation that could have serious political, economic, and humanitarian repercussions for the region and the world at large.
