#SHOWBIZ: Double triumph: Siti Nurhaliza nets 2 records after drawing 145,000 fans

KUALA LUMPUR: National Songstress Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza has added another remarkable feather to her cap after being honoured with two prestigious accolades from the Asean Records and Asia Records following the resounding success of her Legacy 30 and Gema Bumantara concerts.
The recognitions were accorded after both shows collectively drew a staggering 145,000 concertgoers over a 10-month period, while also honouring her dedication to elevating traditional music through large-scale productions.
Siti officially received the honours at an appreciation night celebrating the success of both concerts, held at the KLGCC Convention Centre in Bukit Kiara here yesterday.
The first accolade was awarded under the category of Highest Combined Attendance for Two Solo Concerts in a Stadium by a Malay-Language Recording Artist, acknowledging the total turnout of 145,000 fans.
The figure comprises 72,000 spectators who attended the Legacy 30 Concert on Jan 10, alongside 73,000 music lovers who packed the stadium for the Gema Bumantara Traditional Concert on Oct 17.
The second award was conferred for the Largest and Most Attended Solo Traditional Music Concert by a Female Recording Artist, celebrating the massive 73,000-strong crowd at Gema Bumantara.
The extravaganza saw Siti perform 34 classic numbers in a marathon performance lasting over three hours and 30 minutes.
This double feat underlines Siti's enduring star power and demonstrates that traditional music retains a powerful hold over audiences when presented through a mega-scale production.
Both certificates were presented by Asean Records and Asia Records advisor Tan Sri Professor Datuk Wira Dr Abdul Latiff Abu Bakar.
The celebratory dinner was also attended by fellow artistes who collaborated on the concerts, including Noh Salleh, Hafiz Suip, Haziq Rosebi, Umairah, and Odda.
