Nearly 20 years after Stargate SG-1 ended its ten-season run, the series is still one of the most beloved cult classic science fiction shows of all time. The chemistry between Jack O'Neill, Samantha Carter, Daniel Jackson, and Teal'c was unmatched, while SG-1 struck a near-perfect balance with its humor and compelling storytelling. Its success eventually spawned Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe, and built a franchise that continues to find new fans to this day.

Fortunately, after years of uncertainty surrounding the franchise's future, there is finally some promising news. Amazon MGM Studios is reportedly moving forward with another Stargate television project, this time with WandaVision creator Jac Schaeffer attached, following the disappointing cancellation of an earlier revival.

While the television series is still in development, another exciting announcement has confirmed that the Stargate universe is officially making a comeback, giving longtime fans even more to look forward to.

Jack with an alien device in Stargate SG-1

Stargate SG-1 is officially returning with two new sets from BlueBrixx, bringing some of the franchise's most recognizable enemies back into the spotlight. The upcoming Goa'uld Symbiont and Jaffa Battlepack sets recreate two important elements of the original series, offering fans a chance to revisit the alien threat that defined many of SG-1's earliest adventures.

The Goa'uld Symbiont is a 400-piece display model priced at €19.95, featuring the terrifying snake-like parasite in a raised, threatening pose. Its segmented brown body, red eyes, enormous mouth, and distinctive head crest recreate the appearance of the creatures that served as the franchise's primary antagonists for much of its run.

In SG-1, the Goa'uld were parasitic aliens that took control of humanoid hosts, masquerading as gods and establishing vast empires across the galaxy. Notorious System Lords such as Apophis and Anubis became some of the show's most memorable villains, making the symbiont a proper callback for hardcore fans.

Meanwhile, the Jaffa Battlepack is a 250-piece set priced at €29.95, featuring a small army of the Goa'uld's formidable warriors. The set includes three different helmet variants, along with staff weapons, blades, spears, and orange energy effects. Additional scenery, including a golden structure, wall section, and equipment crate, allows fans to recreate battles from the series.

The Jaffa were particularly important to SG-1's mythology, serving as both soldiers and incubators for immature Goa'uld symbionts. Teal'c famously defected from Apophis's service to join SG-1, eventually becoming instrumental in the Jaffa rebellion against their supposed gods. Both sets are currently listed as coming soon, although BlueBrixx hasn't announced specific release dates.

These latest additions are part of BlueBrixx's much larger officially licensed Stargate collection, which includes a detailed Stargate Gate Room, the Goa'uld Al'kesh bomber, Earth's X-303 Prometheus, and individual brick-built versions of the original SG-1 team.

The company has also expanded into Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe, with models of the Wraith Cruiser, Destiny, Atlantis Gate Room, and several other iconic locations and spacecraft. Altogether, the collection offers a substantial tribute to the franchise's legacy, with even more Stargate releases on the horizon.
