Wynonna Judd responds to Kacey Musgraves' anti-Christopher Columbus rant: 'I'm a patriot'

Country singer Kacey Musgraves caused quite a stir earlier this week at a concert in Texas when she called Christopher Columbus "lame" and "a loser."

"Obviously f--- Columbus. Literally the lamest person to probably ever exist. Like for real. What a loser," she said to an incensed crowd when discussing the national holiday this past Monday.

While Musgraves' comments received both praise and backlash, one country music legend took exception to the vulgar remarks.

Wynonna Judd joined Tomi Lahren on her show, "Tomi Lahren is Fearless," and when the subject of Musgraves and her anti-Columbus rant was broached, Lahren's guest did not hold back.

"She has the right to do that," Judd told Lahren. "But that doesn't mean it's the right thing."

METALLICA FRONTMAN JAMES HETFIELD BLASTS ENTERTAINERS PUSHING POLITICAL AGENDAS AT CONCERTS

The Country Music Hall of Famer was quick to point out that the last thing she wants to do is lecture any of the fans who paid money to see her.

"I never hear from my fans, 'Hey, would you come out and sing 'Grandpa' and tell me what your political view is,'" Judd explained. "My job is to be an entertaining person."

"My grandmother would've had a fit," she added.

Judd revealed that she lives by the thought process of "what would Dolly [Parton] do" when it comes to keeping her beliefs to herself.

Much like Parton, Judd lets her actions speak louder than her words, and one of the causes closest to her heart is helping military service members.

When people take her love for our troops and try to tie it to a certain political belief, the country music star says it hurts her.

COUNTRY STAR CHRIS JANSON SAYS RESPECTING THE FLAG IS THE NUMBER ONE LESSON HE WANTS HIS KIDS TO LEARN

"I didn't come here to talk about politics, I came to talk about music," she said. "It's nobody's business what I try to do in my private life."

Despite her reticence to discuss political matters on stage, Judd wants to make one thing clear.

"I'm a patriot," she proudly exclaimed. "I support my servicemen. My son is a deputy. And I am for America. Period."

Judd told Lahren that when she's on stage, she goes straight to the flag, reasoning that her love of country outweighs any political belief she — or anyone, for that matter — holds.

"We live in the greatest country in the world," said Judd. "If it was President Biden, I would support him. Because he's the freaking president."
