Rocker Nene Royal confident as she heads to AGT finale
PHUKET - Young rocker Nene Royal will depart this resort island on Tuesday for her last and most important performance in America's Got Talent, as the series reaches its seasonal finale.
The 16-year-old heavy metal performer will leave for Los Angeles, with her family and all members of her band Ozone to cheer her in the finals.
"I am 100% ready," she told fans at her concert in Phuket on Saturday night. "I have been working hard every day from 5pm to 9.30pm towards my ultimate goal, to be a world-class artist with a chance for world tours."
All members of her young band said they were also confident Nene would emege the winner of the AGT finale.
The two-part AGT Season 21 Finale is scheduled for Sept 22 and 23 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California. The victor will be decided by public viewer voting after the final performances go to air.
Nene, whose real name is Rattikan "Praew" Amloy, was given the Golden Buzzer by judge Melanie Brown, known as Mel B, during the live quarterfinal rounds in late August, sending her straight through into the finale.
The singer-guitarist goes into the final after her stunning guitar and vocal performance of Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun last month, which came after another powerful performance of the Cranberries' classic hit Zombie in July.
"I will do my best in the finale. What I ask from you is please vote for me. The champion depends on the voting results. Cheer me and vote for me too," Nene said.
Nene is keeping fans guessing which song she has picked for the last show and how she will translate it in her own style.
"Can you guess what song Nene Royal will perform in the AGT FINAL?" she wrote on her Facebook page on Sunday. "If you guess the correct song, you’ll have a chance to win a special prize!".
