Ahsoka Tano has become one of Star Wars' most beloved characters among longtime fans of the franchise, and while she's been around since the original Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie and animated series debuted back in 2008, her more recent Disney+ live-action spotlights have introduced her to a much wider audience.
That said, Ahsoka wasn't always the beloved character fans know today, and in fact, Anakin Skywalker's young Padawan was pretty unpopular among a significant portion of the fanbase back when the original animated series aired, with many criticizing her irritating personality and questioning her place in the established Star Wars timeline.
Fortunately, her character development throughout The Clone Wars, followed by appearances in Star Wars Rebels and The Mandalorian, transformed her into a fan favorite. Rosario Dawson's live-action Ahsoka series, which premiered in 2023, was also generally well-received by critics. Despite some mixed reactions from audiences, it finally started to answer many of the lingering questions raised in the animated series.
Now, nearly two decades after her debut in Star Wars canon, Ahsoka is preparing for another major comeback in 2027, with a brand-new adaptation that will give fans yet another opportunity to experience the beloved character's adventures.

Ahsoka Tano is officially returning on March 23, 2027 with the release of Ahsoka: A Novelization of Season One, an expanded adaptation of the hit Disney+ series starring Rosario Dawson.
Published by Random House/Star Wars, the upcoming novelization will retell the events of the show's eight-episode first season, giving fans an opportunity to revisit Ahsoka's adventures in a different format. The 320-page paperback will retail for $9.99, with ebook and audiobook editions also planned. Although primarily aimed at younger readers ages 7–10, the book could also appeal to longtime fans, particularly as it includes eight pages of full-color images from the television series.
The novelization is being written by S.T. Bende, an established Star Wars author whose previous work includes the Star Wars: The Bad Batch junior novelization, Star Wars Bestiary, Vol. 1, and The Tiny Book of Jedi. Bende has also written several Star Wars: Epic Adventures adaptations, making the Ahsoka novelization yet another great addition to an already extensive collection of franchise-related work.
Question 1 of 3
For those unfamiliar with the original series or who need a quick refresher of what the first season entailed, Ahsoka premiered in August 2023, following the former Jedi as she investigated the possibility of Grand Admiral Thrawn returning to threaten the New Republic following the Empire's defeat.
Reuniting with her estranged apprentice, Sabine Wren, Ahsoka embarks on a dangerous mission, tracking down Ezra Bridger along the way, who disappeared alongside Thrawn during the events of Star Wars Rebels. After reuniting, the pair encounter several dangerous enemies, including Baylan Skoll, Shin Hati, and Morgan Elsbeth, ultimately traveling to the mysterious planet Peridea in another galaxy.
The season concludes with Thrawn successfully returning to the main Star Wars galaxy, accompanied by the powerful Nightsister Great Mothers. Ezra also escapes and reunites with Hera Syndulla, while Ahsoka and Sabine find themselves stranded on Peridea. The novelization will retell these events on the page, and also include some incredible full-color images from the actual series itself.

Fortunately, fans won't have to wait until the novelization arrives to discover what happens next. Ahsoka Season 2 officially premieres on Disney+ on January 20, 2027, roughly two months before the book's release.
The second season will follow Ahsoka and Sabine's efforts to escape Peridea, while Thrawn threatens to plunge the New Republic into another conflict. Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Lars Mikkelsen, and even Hayden Christensen are all returning, while Game of Thrones actor Rory McCann will replace the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll.
With the first teaser already released, Season 2 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting new chapters for Ahsoka, while the upcoming novelization is a great way to revisit the first season of her live-action Star Wars series.
