Not only has a new month just begun, but it also happens to be one that we have all been looking for as the spooky events are just around the corner. One such example of that is for Black Clover, the hit anime that is about to welcome a genre shift we did not even know we needed.
Based on the manga series of the same name by Yūki Tabata, Black Clover found itself becoming a hit anime, airing from 2017 to 2021. Now, with a second season set to begin airing this month, fans of the franchise are returning in their droves to see the story continue.
Black Clover tells the story of Asta, a young boy born into a world where people are born with the ability to use magic. However, as you can probably already predict, Asta does not harness any magical abilities. However, when he is gifted a grimoire, he develops anti-magic abilities, and, thanks to the help of his fellow mages, he plans on becoming the next Wizard King.
Now, for the first time, it seems as though Black Clover will be appearing in a surprise crossover, and yes, it is with none other than Fortnite as part of its Fortnite Fortnitemares event.
Earlier this week saw Epic Games release its first trailer for Fortnite Fortnitemares with the annual event set to welcome another batch of iconic characters to the fray. As well as adding characters from some of the most iconic horror franchises of all time, it seems as though Black Clover has also made the guest list.
Alongside the likes of characters from Beetlejuice, Five Nights at Freddy’s, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and The Purge, players can also choose to play as Asta, who is showcased in his anti-magic devil form. He will join the likes of Freddy Krueger, and Five Nights at Freddy's characters Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, and Chica.
The trailer also shows Betelgeuse from Beetlejuice emerging from a grave, The Purge’s Lady Liberty and Slender Man, and it seems as though a recent Hollywood blockbuster will also be making some sort of appearance as the One Wish Willow from Obsession could also be seen at the end of the trailer, although it remains to be seen how this iconic prop will be implemented.
Beginning today, 1 October, the Fortnite’s Fortnitemares 2026 event will be a return to form for the hit battle royale title. Not only will players get to dive into multiple horror franchises, but they can also expect new sprites and variants, such as the Birthday Sprite, Reaper, Trick or Treat, Gummy, and Holofoil. The update will go live following the v42.30 update, which in itself also welcomes multiple bug fixes.
With the Battle Royale map set to turn into a Halloween extravaganza, now is the perfect time to dive into Fortnite, especially if you just so happen to be a fan of Black Clover too...
