After plenty of anticipation and a fair bit of waiting, Ghosts: The Possession of Button House is now finally out in the UK. But while you might be heading to the big screen to check out the crew's latest adventure, you might want to know what comes after that.

There was surprise in some quarters when it was announced that the beloved sitcom would be brought back with a feature film, with the series seeming to have ended pretty definitively back in 2023.

Now, speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, the various creators and writers of the popular series have discussed whether the gang could get back together again - and the signs are positive.

"Well, who knows?" said Simon Farnaby, who plays Julian Fawcett. "If everyone goes to the cinema and watches it in their droves, then it might force our hand. But we'll see. We will write something else together. Whether it's Ghosts, I'm not sure. But we'll see."

Echoing this sentiment, Laurence Rickard said: "We don't know. I mean, I would say no. I think we sort of finished it and this was the cherry on the cake, but we said before with genuine honesty it's all over, yet here we are.

"So we've learned not to say definitively. It feels like the door is shut, but doors have hinges and handles, so who knows? I think there will certainly be something else we're keen to do together," added the star, who plays Robin and Humphrey Bone.

Lolly Adefope, who portrays Kitty Higham, was also hopeful about returning in the future, noting: "I would. It's not up to me, unfortunately, but my door's open. If they decide to, then absolutely."

The Possession of Button House has been directed by Simon Hynd, with the aforementioned trio being joined in the cast by Charlotte Ritchie, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Mathew Baynton, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick and Ben Willbond.

In Digital Spy's four-star review of the film, we called it a "delightful continuation of the beloved BBC series", adding: [It] develops the characters and doesn't just repeat the same tricks. For that reason, it's hard to imagine any fan will be disappointed."

"Ghosts: The Possession of Button House has the same irresistible blend of humour and heart as the series, and right now, we'd take at least 10 more sequels if the creators wanted to do them," we continued.
