Metal Gear Solid: Raiden Will Officially Land November 2026

The Metal Gear Solid franchise is filled to the brim with cool and memorable characters, and your own favorite likely comes down to which games you played at the right time growing up. That said, almost everyone will agree that Raiden (not to be confused with the Mortal Kombat character of the same name), is one of the best of the bunch.

His first appearance in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty is an absolute all-timer, and his subsequent bows in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance have done little to dampen his momentum. Now, he's about to return once again, and it's not in video game form this time around.

Over on the official Sideshow website, you should be able to find the product page for the Raiden 1/6 scale statue from Gecco Co. Made from high-quality polystone, it's about as detailed a statue as it's currently possible to find anywhere, particularly of characters from Metal Gear Solid.

In sharing a little about the inspiration behind the product, the company posted the following description:

"Raiden, whose powerful presence and pivotal role defined the stealth-action masterpiece "METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS," has been captured as a 1:6 scale statue. Every element, from his intricate cyborg exoskeleton to his high-frequency blade and tactical knife, is sculpted with breathtaking precision. The base is modeled after Raiden’s iconic scenes supporting Solid Snake, featuring the scattered remains of a defeated Gekko.

"His dignified stance and focused expression perfectly convey his unwavering sense of duty to protect Snake. This release also includes an interchangeable head part with his visor lowered for added display versatility."

As you might expect, all of the attention to detail doesn't come particularly cheap, and you'll be paying £344.34/$399.99 if you want to add it as the centerpiece of a physical collection. The only caveat is that the product is currently only available for pre-order, with a current shipping window of September—November 2026 (though that is subject to change).

The Metal Gear Solid series has essentially been on ice since creator Hideo Kojima stepped back from his role at the developer to form his own studio. His company's relationship with Sony and Playstation recently broke down as well, when the console manufacturer pulled out of their existing deal.

This led Kojima to taking his considerable business over to Xbox, making a Metal Gear Solid return less likely than ever. Remakes and remasters could potentially happen, but an entirely new effort feels as though it could well be pie in the sky at this point.
