Willy Chavarria is continuing his subversive streak with his latest footwear collaboration. The designer teamed up with Ugg on a line of beefed-up biker boots, swapping the usual soft sheepskin for black leather. The collection is available now from Ugg, with prices ranging from $190 for the hotel slipper to $800 for boots.

The Mexican-American designer is known to wear his heritage on his sleeve, often incorporating Chicano and Latino influences. Previous collections have nodded to everything from zoot suits to religious iconography. This collection is no different, as Chavarria tapped Ivan Cornejo, Danny Trejo, Eva Longoria, and Becky G for the sitcom-inspired campaign.

“We’ve designed this collection to be fierce and friendly,” said Chavarria in a statement. “This is my love letter to the outlaw in you.” The Ugg collection features the $800 Guard boot, $500 Biker boot, $190 slipper, $450 Relaxed Boot, $250 Otzo Clog, and a $190 Slipper. There’s also a pair of socks and a t-shirt. The all-black footwear also feature branded chrome tabs and Vibram soles for added durability.

Like Chavarria, Ugg originally hails from California; the brand was founded as footwear for surfers looking to keep their feet warm. As it’s grown, Ugg has taken advantage of its ugly-chic street cred, from collaborations with buzzy designers like Reese Cooper and Collina Strada to campaigns with musicians like Muna and Central Cee.

As for Chavarria, the designer’s eponymous label has featured collaborations with t-shirt brand Pro Club and Zara, as well as a long-running Adidas line. Chavarria is also outspoken on social issues, and was tapped as an artist ambassador for immigrant and LGBTQ rights for the ACLU.

The collection is available now, and you can check out pieces from the collaboration below.
