5 best things to do in London this month, from spa deals to Traitors Live

Translate

Standard Shopping

There’s more to London than just the Eye, Madame Tussauds and The Shrek Adventure, you know. In fact, there’s a whole world of experiences, attractions and deals to be had, city-wide, if you know where to look. And where to look is across Red Letter Days and Virgin Experiences.

Quite simply, when I was asked to write this what’s on guide, I was over the moon; this type of thing is just so up my street. I’d always rather do something than have something, and if there’s an opportunity to do something silly, then even better. Just tell me what to wear.

With that in mind, here’s my pick of the five best things you can do in London that are a little different, with a whole lot of fun (and some zen relaxation, if that’s more your speed) in the mix. Check it out.

The Traitors Live Experience

Red Letter Days

As someone who has dedicated a lot of time and funds to dressing as Claudia Winkleman this Halloween, you can bet that The Traitors Live Experience has already been bookmarked in my browser. Securing you two spots at the famous round table, this experience package allows you to step into The Traitors’ world of secrets, strategy and suspense. Yes, please.

Virgin Experience Days

I’ve been to the Athenaeum Hotel in Mayfair, and sampled the massage and facial treatments, and I can safely say it’s the most relaxed I’ve ever been in the centre of the bustling city. A word of advice, though: book an Uber home after your two included treatments and cream tea. You’ll be feeling far too zen to face the likes of the central line home.

The Cube Live Experience for Two

Red Letter Days

I used to run home to watch The Cube after school. And if you had told me then that, as a grown-up, I might get a go in the titular Cube but without the pressure of Bradley Walsh and a full studio audience watching, well, that’s just a dream come true.

Virgin Experience Days

Calling all foodies. It will come as no surprise to hear that London has some of the best food our island has to offer, and an experience day is one of the best ways to sample what iconic spots have up for grabs, and for less. One of London’s most spectacular dining destinations, The Fortnum & Mason Bar and Restaurant at Royal Exchange was once dubbed the ‘Most Instagrammable Restaurant in London’ by one of my restaurant-reviewing colleagues.

iFly Indoor Skydiving for Two

Virgin Experience Days/The Standard

Okay, putting my money where my mouth is, I did actually do the indoor skydiving at iFly in May of this year and, I have to say, I absolutely loved it. Silly, slightly scary, and surprisingly skilled, the skydiving experience made me laugh and made my abs ache a hell of a lot the next day. Plus, there’s no denying that the outfits are surprisingly chic.
