India’s strong start to the Chess Olympiad 2026 will face a tough examination when it takes on Netherlands and Poland in the Open and women’s sections respectively on Sunday.
The Indian Open team defeated Spain 3-1 on Day 4, and will face a difficult challenge against Netherlands. It has not made any change to its line-up against Spain, meaning that it will field R. Praggnandhaa, D. Gukesh, Nihal Sarin, and Arjun Erigaisi.
The women’s team beat Mongolia 3-1 yesterday, and faces Poland next. It has made one change, bringing in Vantika Agrawal for Savitha Sree B to join Humpy Koneru, R. Vaishali, and Divya Deshmukh.
