Yuri Yoshida came from four shots back on Sunday, October 25, 2026, to win the BMW Ladies Championship at Pine Beach Golf Links in Haenam, South Korea. The 26-year-old from Japan shot a 4-under 68 in the final round to finish at 17-under 271, beating South Korean stars Haeran Ryu and Hye-Jin Choi by one shot. As Sky Sports showed in its final-round coverage, the win went right down to the 18th hole before Yoshida walked away with her first LPGA Tour title and a $352,500 winner's check. With the comeback win, she became the fourth player from Japan and the fourth first-time winner on the LPGA Tour in 2026.
How The Final Round Played Out In South Korea
Starting Sunday four shots behind third-round leader Haeran Ryu, Yoshida made her move early. She hit an eagle on the par-5 second hole and made three birdies in a row on holes five, six, and seven to reach the turn at 5-under 31. After her Japanese friends greeted her on the 18th green, Yoshida talked about how she felt:
"It's a special moment for me, and actually, I was nervous. But at this moment, I'm really happy."
The closing holes tested her nerves. After a bogey at the 15th, she pulled off a clutch bunker shot on the 17th hole to set up the birdie that kept her ahead. Speaking about that shot out of the sand, she said,
"Actually, I didn't have confidence. But I thought, just hit, just hit; it's the perfect distance. It was perfect, yeah."
Final Scores And Next Stop On The LPGA Asian Swing
Yoshida made a bogey on the 18th hole, but she still took the title after Ryu also bogeyed the final hole to tie Choi for second at 16-under 272. Ryu opened with 15 straight pars before dropping a shot on the 16th and shooting 73, missing out on her sixth LPGA win after winning the Women's PGA Championship and Evian Championship in 2026.
Choi mixed four birdies with a single bogey on the par-3 third hole to shoot 69 for her third runner-up finish of 2026, a week after losing by a shot to Ruoning Yin in Shanghai, and remains winless in 125 LPGA starts.
Minsol Kim and Hyo Joo Kim tied for fourth at 15-under, while 2025 winner Sei Young Kim tied for 55th at 2-under 286 before next week's Maybank Championship in Malaysia.
