Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay has returned to the national team squad for this month’s UEFA Nations League matches against North Macedonia and Switzerland after undergoing minor heart surgery in September.
The 29-year-old missed the previous international window following the procedure but has been recalled alongside defender Kieran Tierney and striker Che Adams, the Scottish Football Association announced on Tuesday.
Tierney and Adams have also recovered from injuries that kept them out of the squad.
Defender James Penrice, who is on loan at Rangers from Greek club AEK Athens, has earned a call-up and could make his senior international debut.

However, Scott McKenna has been ruled out with a back strain, while Lennon Miller, Josh Doig, Colby Donovan and James Wilson have been left out of the squad.
Scotland is currently third in Nations League Group B1 with four points from four matches, trailing second-placed Slovenia by three points and leader Switzerland by eight.
The Scottish side will host North Macedonia on November 13 before travelling to face Switzerland on November 16 as it looks to improve its position in the group standings.
