Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s plans to enhance privacy around their Ohio mansion have sparked a dispute with neighbours, who have raised concerns about landscaping, local wildlife and potential damage to a shared sewer line.

The couple purchased the Bratenahl property for $5.35 million in March 2026 and have sought additional security measures around the estate. While the proposed six-foot fence has received approval, the landscaping plans have faced further scrutiny from local officials.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s neighbors are protesting against the celebrity couple’s home

During a village planning meeting that was held last month in the couple’s area, their neighbors blasted the singer and the NFL player for their requests to increase security measures around the house.

The Daily Mail reported that many neighbors in the area expressed their disdain over the “absentee” couple and called their presence a “tremendous blow” to the community.Swift and Travis had been planning on erecting fencing and planting trees surrounding their USD 5 million plot to ensure more safety for their home. However, many neighbors had attempted to block the move at the meeting last month. While the request had already been approved by the Bratenahl Architectural Review Board for the 6-foot fence in September, neighbors have been standing by their decision to oppose the move.

One of the neighbors, Katherine Bolton, who has lived right next to Kelce and Swift’s spot for over three decades, opened up about the issues that their construction would cause, citing that there would be “catastrophic sewer backups." She further commented, “What am I going to do when I have 50 evergreen trees on my sewer line, and they’re gone? And I’m still living here in Bratenahl.”Another neighbor from the area expressed his concerns over deer in the area injuring themselves because of the case.

“ridiculous … clear cutting of the shrubbery and everything else," he added.

However, according to the celebrity couple’s planner, Jacob Kutz, there is no issue with wanting more security. He commented that the two have been “looking for privacy and security … after one of the largest sales in Cuyahoga County.” He also shared that the fence had already been planned for 8 feet long; however, the size was later revealed to have changed to 6PM.Page Six had also reported last month that the couple had also installed a special alarm for people “getting too close to the house” in order to ensure their safety. They also own spaces in all of these spaces, including Kansas, New York, Tennessee, Rhode Island, and California.
